Island Music Co. Collections Policy

Island Music Co. will have all legal rights and remedies for nonpayment of any amount due to Island Music Co. Delinquent payments will bear interest at 18% per annum, or the highest rate allowed by law, from the date due, until paid in full. If Island Music institutes legal proceedings, or hires a lawyer to collect delinquent sums, in addition to all other rights and remedies, Island Music shall be entitled to an award of costs of collection, including reasonable attorney's fees.


All Sales Final/No Refunds Policy

Like many musical instrument retailers, Island Music Company has an All Sales Final, No Refunds Policy. We will gladly exchange a defective item for the same item within 14 days of receipt. If your purchase is incompatible with your setup, or you simply do not like your purchase, we will exchange for another item or issue store credit, less shipping fees (including those which may have been incurred on “free shipping” items). Returned items are subject to a 15% restock fee as well as original shipping costs incurred by Island Music Company.

Non-Returnable Items

Items that cannot be returned include: special orders, customized items, replacement speakers, speaker parts, tubes, software, print sheet music, and items with contents or packaging that are damaged/missing. Discontinued products, clearance, close-outs and sale items are also non-returnable. We strongly suggest that you check your items after receiving it to be sure that it is in proper working order.

Additionally, items that are considered for personal use such as earphones, headphones, microphones, harmonicas, masks, instrument mouthpieces, etc. cannot be returned.

Shipping and handling costs are non-refundable, including a reasonable shipping cost calculated for “free US shipping” or “ best offer” prices.

Exchange Process

Please contact us from My Account>Completed>Return Item(s) for return ship instructions before returning any items. Upon receipt of the returned product a credit will be issued according to your payment method. If any product is damaged in shipping, you should address the issue promptly with the appropriate carrier. Any return sent back without contacting us and completing a return form will NOT be processed.

Layaway and Special Orders

Layaway and special order purchases not picked up within 7 to 45 days will be subject to a restocking fee of 15% of the full purchase price.

Inventory & Product Availability

Island Music Company is a full-line retail music store and has thousands of instruments in stock. We work hard to keep our online store up-to-date with our current inventory levels. Occasionally some items listed on the website are no longer in stock at our retail store and may ship to you directly from the manufacturer. In the event we are out of a particular item you will be notified immediately.

Likewise, some items that are in stock at our retail location may not be listed on the website yet. If there is a musical instrument or equipment that you do not see on our website, call us at 301-392-3960 to speak to a sales representative and they will be happy to assist you with special orders.

Domestic Shipping

We typically ship our products via UPS Ground Service. Delivery can take 1 to 7 days. Please allow our shipping department an additional 1-4 days to process, package and ship your order. Many in-stock items will ship the same day!

UPS will NOT deliver to APO, FPO, or PO Boxes. If you need items sent to these destinations we will ship via US Postal Service. US shipping is to the lower 48 states only. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico may incur additional charges. Free Ground Shipping does not apply to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

International Shipping

International shipments are mailed via US Postal Service Priority International. Shipping time takes between 14 business days for most destinations. However, it may take longer depending on customs. Please direct inquiries to your local customs department. If you want faster shipping and more detailed tracking information we also use USPS Express International please contact us for a shipping quote.

Island Music Company is NOT responsible for customs duties or any other additional duties, taxes or fees imposed by your country. Sorry, but we are unable to declare a lower value on customs forms. Please be advised that doing so also decreases the insurance value of the item, and therefore does not guarantee full reimbursement in the event of loss, theft or damage.

Insurance Claims Procedures

In the unfortunate event that your item arrives damaged or not at all, please contact Island Music Company as soon as possible to initiate the claims process. All claims must be filed within 7 days within receipt of the shipment. Please be aware that Island Music Company is not at fault for lost or damaged packages. Insurance claims are to be paid by the shipping company since the package was lost or damaged while in their care. Please save all original packaging and any postal documentation for proof until the claim has been approved. In the event of a missing or lost shipment we are unable to file a claim prior to 30 days from shipment date as per carrier guidelines.

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) as well as cash, check, PayPal, Klarna, Afterpay, Venmo, and Synchrony.


Your New Equipment Manufacturer Limited Warranty

Island Music is an Authorized Dealer for most of the New and Used products that we sell. Most New products come with a Manufacturer's Limited Warranty. The service offered and the warranty time period varies by the manufacturer. To read or register your Manufacturer Limited Warranty go to the Manufacturer's website or ask your Island Music Sales Associate for assistance. Island Music does not provide an additional or separate Warranty. Be sure to register your Manufacturer's Limited Warranty. Please keep your Island Music receipt of purchase.

Island Music Previously Owned 30-Day Limited Warranty

Previously owned instruments and equipment purchased from Island Music are covered by our Island Music 30-Day Limited Warranty. This 30-Day Limited Warranty on previously owned items includes most parts and labor for 30 days, including speakers, horns, drivers, diaphragms, or tubes. It does not include strings and neck adjustments. Island Music will take care of any problem that may arise with your previously owned item in its own repair facility for 30 days after your purchase.

  • You will not have to worry about service centers.
  • You will not have to worry about shipping products back to the manufacturer.
  • Island Music will work for a speedy "in house" solution to your repair issues.

When warranty service is requested please present your sales receipt in order to validate your purchase.
