ONE OF A KIND!! This guitar is one of four prototypes that were made before the Rosewood Limited series (a run of 100 guitars) was put into production. This exquisite guitar features one of four interpretations of the famous PRS Tree of Life motif created by the talented artists at Pearl Works. This prototype was used to decide on the final motif design to be put into final production for the famous PRS Rosewood LTD electric guitar. The inlay extends along the fretboard, headstock and truss rod cover and uses brown lip mother of pearl, white and gold mother of pearl, paua, red coral, and 14k gold in combination with delicate etching to depict the detailed leaves and flowers.

This exact guitar was featured and displayed in the Musical Instrument Museum’s special exhibition “Dragons and Vines: Inlaid Guitar Masterpieces.” Guitar includes an additional backplate signed by Paul Reed Smith, MIM Dragon and Vines exhibition catalog with this exact guitar featured on page 32, and original leather, plush-lined hard shell case.

This guitar was bought directly from Pearl Works by a collector. It has been kept in a temperature and humidity controlled environment and has rarely been played. The guitar body is in Mint Condition and is fully functional. There are very minor cosmetic issues along the frets including minor dings in the frets and a very small amount of residual glue along the fretboard which is very difficult to see. We believe both are a result of the guitar not undergoing final buffing since it was not in production for sale. This does not affect the guitar’s playability or tonality and truly contributes to the guitar’s unique backstory.
