BOSS offers two types of sturdy metal footswitches for different applications. The FS-5U (silver) is a momentary unlatch-type footswitch, this means the footswitch will stay on only when it’s pressed. The FS-5L (black) is a latch-type footswitch, meaning the footswitch will turn on when it’s pressed, and will stay on until it’s pressed again. Both footswitches can be connected using ordinary guitar cables.
